Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce its Annual Scholarship Program for
graduating high school seniors. The deserving scholarship recipients will be an incoming attendee to a
University, Community College, or Trade School for the upcoming academic year.
Two Scholarships for $500 will be awarded.
Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union strives to be a leader in the community and believes we have a great
opportunity to help our youth in their pursuit of higher education. Beyond an opportunity, we view it as a social
responsibility to reach out to the communities that we serve.
To be considered, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria below:
❏ Be a member of the credit union in good standing for 1 year
❏ COAFCU staff, officials, or family members are not eligible
❏ Graduate of the upcoming Class residing in Taylor, Runnels, Coke, Coleman, Eastland, Callahan, Shackelford, Jones,
Fisher, or Nolan Counties
❏ Incoming college freshman at a two or four‐year institution of higher learning, or certified trade school
❏ To receive the full $500 Scholarship, student must be enrolled full time/minimum of 12 credit
hours.
❏ Selection Committee reserves the right to provide partial scholarships of $250 to deserving
applicants attending part time, at least 6 but less than 12 credit hours.
Requirements
Scholarships will be awarded to the highest scoring applicants based on the following:
• 25% ‐ Academic Performance
• 25% ‐ Essay
• 25% ‐ Extracurricular Activities
• 25% ‐ Community Involvement
Applications must be received in person or postmarked no later than May of the current year, to remain eligible for
